He is a composer from Egypt. He works as a Professor of theory and electracoustic at the Composition and Conducting Department of Cairo Conservatory, Academy of Arts (University of Arts in Cairo).A synthesis of Western and Eastern styles in my music reflects my own cross-cultural perspective and experience. I think music can play in important role in promoting a better understanding and appreciation among Western and Arab peoples.
He was Visiting Scholar of Composition with a sabbatical leave (2007-2011) at School of Music, Boston University in Massachusetts, USA .
He previously studied at the University of Performing Arts and Theater in Vienna, where he obtained a terminal degree Magister Artium in composition with focusing in electroacoustic and experimental music, (1996). Two years later, he obtained a Doctor of Arts degree from the Academy of Arts in Cairo (1998).
